A gap year like no other!
You could intern with Design Movement for one or two years after college.
WHAT DOES AN INTERN DO? An intern does the job of a staff person. You will share the gospel
on campus, mentor students, and send others out to do the same.
WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN INTERN AND STAFF? An intern is like a full-time staff person
in training and responsibility but with only a 1-2 year commitment, no long-term benefits, and less
support to raise.
WHAT KIND OF TRAINING WILL I RECEIVE? As an intern, you will have a trainer who will go through a
curriculum to help you develop in ministry and personal growth.
PLACEMENT Placement is based on your request and the needs of our teams. Possible US Locations for Design Movement:
Chicago, Expedition, Southeast Michigan.
HOW MUCH SUPPORT WILL I NEED TO RAISE? Your financial support goal will be determined by the cost
of living in your placement location. It may range from $2,600 to $3,700 monthly. This includes salary,
health insurance, and reimbursing ministry expenses. Ministry expenses include printing/sending
newsletters and thank you cards, internet & phone bill for ministry purposes, and all travel costs
(lodging & per diem) for conferences, etc.
WHEN DOES AN INTERNSHIP BEGIN AND END?
August 1 – July 31
DEADLINE: Application due March 1. (Early application by February 1 is encouraged.)
THE TIMELINE: You’ll hear back 4-6 weeks after your application submission date. Once accepted, you
will be required to attend a Cru Orientation Weekend (Orientation/Training) to help you with
fundraising. You will be hired after raising your support and will report to your assignment in August.
