This summer, it was rewarding to witness God work among the South Asian people while on the Gateway Summer Mission trip with Cru! Our primary focus was to reach college students with the Gospel. God was so faithful and helped us initiate 500+ spiritual conversations in which we clearly shared the Gospel over 120 times. Praise God for that boldness! There were even multiple stories of our team sharing with students who had never heard of the name of Jesus. By the end, we gathered 10 students (believers + seekers) and challenged them to start a campus group that explores the person of Christ by studying the Bible.
The header photo (above) captures the spiritual reality of this major South Asian city. We saw darkness in the college campus and throughout the city. There were many who worshiped false gods. This city also has one of the largest red-light districts in the world. Yet God loves this city and sent Jesus to die on their behalf. For God has been raising up laborers among the students and the marginalized to declare to them about the hope of Jesus and His Kingdom!
Think about this: Jesus is pursuing worshippers hear near and far. I’ve been convinced that the Lord accomplishes this purpose through the vehicle of discipleship relationships. It was a joy to disciple men at Michigan and the men on our Gateway team. Even though I will be departing from my role as staff, I trust that God will use these men to raise up more Christ followers in their contexts. Thank you for investing in me and encouraging me to share Christ with others.
